Background

The Aspen Consolidated Sanitation District (ACSD) has launched a comprehensive, multi-year study to identify sources of Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) of surface water and groundwater into the sanitary sewer system. This type of flow, referred to as Clearwater, can overwhelm the sewer system and lead to operational challenges. For your reference, an informational brochure is enclosed with this letter.

Finding at Your Property

As part of the study, your property was evaluated, and a source of Clearwater inflow was discovered. The following potential sources were specifically identified:

·         Pedestrian Area Drain                                  04

·         Uncapped Sewer Service Cleanout      05

·         Other Plumbing Defect                               06

Required Correction

The connection of these sources to the sanitary sewer system constitutes a violation of ACSD’s rules and regulations, specifically section 3.14 regarding Surface Runoff or Groundwater. To comply with district regulations, you must correct the identified defect(s) as soon as possible.
